Radio host and media personality Sizwe Dhlomo has taken a firm ethical stand, declaring that he will never play music by either Shebeshxt or R. Kelly during his weekday breakfast slot, SizTheWorld, on Kaya FM.

Zero Tolerance for R. Kelly
Dhlomo first addressed his stance on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, after a user on X (formerly Twitter) questioned why he avoided playing R. Kelly’s music. The query was prompted by a previous post from another celebrity praising the controversial American singer.
Dhlomo’s response was direct: “We don’t play R. Kelly.”
While he provided no further elaboration, his decision aligns with the growing industry-wide movement to distance platforms from the convicted American artist, whose music has been systematically dropped by stations globally following his sexual abuse convictions.
Shebeshxt Also Ruled Out
The next day, when another user inquired whether Dhlomo would consider airing tracks by South African rapper Shebeshxt, the response was equally succinct and blunt: “No.”

Dhlomo’s explicit exclusion of both artists has ignited online debate. While some followers have accused the radio personality of having a “selective” or “hypocritical” approach to ethics in music, many others have commended him for taking a clear, uncompromising position on the content played on his show.
This move solidifies Dhlomo’s commitment to using his platform to reflect specific ethical considerations regarding the artists whose work he chooses to support.
