Flash Ikumkani and Nomfundo Moh Join Forces

Although the rapper kept the announcement brief, the collaboration immediately raises curiosity about what the two artists have created together.

Flash has established himself as a distinctive voice in South African vernacular hip-hop, with his music largely driven by isiXhosa lyricism, sharp storytelling and reflections on everyday life.

Born Hlumile Mangoloti in Peelton near King William’s Town, the rapper first attracted wider attention with the 2020 hit “Mhluzi”. He has since continued building his catalogue with projects including IQhawe, Isibane Selali and the 2025 album Die Hard.

His work with Pika Records has further connected him with a platform associated with African stories and artists with strong individual identities.

Nomfundo Moh Brings a Different Musical Flavour

Nomfundo Moh, meanwhile, has become a prominent name in contemporary South African Afro-pop.

The KwaZulu-Natal singer-songwriter gained widespread attention with songs such as “Lilizela” and “Phakade Lami”, before expanding her discography with projects including Amagama, Ugcobo, Twenty Four and her 2026 release Farm Julia.

Known for her emotionally rich vocals and melodic approach, Nomfundo has built a sound that often explores themes of love, personal growth and resilience.

That makes the upcoming collaboration particularly intriguing.

An IsiXhosa Rap and Afro-Pop Crossover?

Flash Ikumkani’s direct rap delivery and isiXhosa storytelling could create an interesting contrast with Nomfundo Moh’s soulful vocal style.

The pairing has the potential to bring together two distinct sides of South African music while keeping vernacular storytelling at the centre of the record.

For now, however, the artists are keeping fans guessing. The song title, release date and production details have yet to be announced.

With Pika Records tagged in Flash’s teaser, the post could be the beginning of a larger rollout.

Until more details emerge, fans are left with one simple message from Flash Ikumkani: the collaboration with Nomfundo Moh is coming.
