
South Africa is preparing to pay its final respects to veteran actor Seputla Sebogodi, following his tragic passing on the evening of 15 July 2026 from diabetes-related complications.
In an official statement released via Actors Space, the family confirmed that two public memorial services will be held in Pretoria and Polokwane, followed by a final funeral service in Limpopo to celebrate the extraordinary life and career of the Generations and Scandal! icon.

A Towering Legacy Across Stage and Screen
With a distinguished career spanning several decades, Sebogodi left an indelible mark on South African storytelling. His iconic roles on television included Generations (as Kenneth Mashaba), Suburban Bliss, Bophelo ke Semphego, Redemption, and most recently Scandal!.
Beyond the screen, he was a giant of local theatre, headlining celebrated stage productions such as Big Dada, Waiting for Godot, The Rivonia Trial, Once a Pirate, and Mooi Street Moves.
His family expressed their profound grief in an official statement:
