Former Orlando Pirates forward Tshegofatso Mabasa has officially embarked on a new chapter in North Africa, completing a permanent transfer to reigning Botola Pro League champions Maghreb de Fès.
The 29-year-old striker—affectionately dubbed “Sniper”—joins the Moroccan powerhouse on a multi-year deal as a free agent, making history as the first South African player to represent the Fès-based club.
A Storied Legacy at Orlando Stadium
Mabasa brings his spell in Soweto to a close after eight years with the Buccaneers, leaving behind an exceptional domestic record:
- Buccaneers Record: 50 goals in 141 appearances across all competitions.
- Silverware: 3× MTN8 champion.
- Career Totals: 74 goals in 249 overall PSL appearances (including loan spells at Sekhukhune United, Swallows FC, and Stellenbosch FC).
Despite reported interest from domestic rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC, Mabasa opted for Morocco, where he will lead the line for Maghreb de Fès in their upcoming 2026/27 CAF Champions League campaign.
