Kaizer Chiefs FC has reportedly chosen the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane as the venue for their crucial first home match in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages against Egyptian giants Zamalek FC.

Key Group Stage Fixture Confirmed
The “Glamour Boys” secured a spot in the Confederation Cup group stages where they are set to face Zamalek, Al Masry FC (Egypt), and Zambian side ZESCO United. The team will play three home games in total during the group phase.
The venue for the opening home match has been confirmed by Polokwane Municipality Sport and Recreation representative, Mantlako Sebaka.
- Match: Kaizer Chiefs vs. Zamalek FC
- Date: 29 November
- Time: 15:00
- Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane
- Tickets: R80, available through Computicket
Sebaka noted the extended partnership between the municipality and Kaizer Chiefs, similar to their relationship with Sekhukhune United.

Leveraging Home-Ground Advantage
Kaizer Chiefs has a history of playing select league fixtures at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. This decision to move the crucial international match away from their primary home ground in Gauteng reflects a strategy to maximize fan support and atmosphere.
The club often struggles to fill the 94,000-capacity FNB Stadium for non-derby or non-Mamelodi Sundowns games, leading to a subdued atmosphere. By contrast, their recent successful CAF preliminary round match at the smaller Dobsonville Stadium, which had a packed crowd, highlighted the benefit of playing in a more intimate, full venue.
The Amakhosi will be banking on filling up the Peter Mokaba Stadium to create a strong home-ground advantage against the Egyptian rivals.
Kaizer Chiefs will host their remaining two Confederation Cup home games against ZESCO and Al Masry at the beginning of February next year.
