Following Orlando Pirates’ victory in the Carling Knockout Cup final, former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has heaped praise on young Bucs star Relebohile Mofokeng, suggesting the 21-year-old is ready for a move to Europe, possibly Spain.

Praise for Mofokeng’s Character
Khanye, who had initially predicted a defeat for Pirates in the final against Marumo Gallants, publicly admitted Mofokeng’s performance proved him wrong. The winger scored the decisive goal for the Buccaneers on Saturday.
Khanye credited Pirates for displaying strong character, acknowledging that winning games sometimes requires more than just playing well. He highlighted Mofokeng as a player who “raised his hand” in a crucial moment.
“The boy waited for his time and he stood out. I think big things are coming for the boy, maybe he’ll go to Spain,” Khanye told iDiski TV, commending Mofokeng’s ability to handle the pressure.

A Bright Future and European Ambitions
Mofokeng’s match-winning goal follows a productive spell since returning from injury last month, during which he has tallied two assists and one goal.
While the young player has been linked with a move away from Orlando Pirates for nearly a year, nothing has materialized yet. However, with the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) approaching, this major tournament could serve as a significant platform for Mofokeng to attract further international attention.
The young star has already had a significant impact at Pirates, winning five trophies with the Soweto giants and notably scoring in three finals during his three seasons with the club
