Rachel Kolisi, lifestyle and fitness enthusiast and estranged wife of Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, successfully completed her first-ever triathlon but shared an unexpected post-race twist: a trip to the hospital.
Kolisi took to Instagram on Sunday, December 7th, to announce her achievement in the endurance race (which combines swimming, cycling, and running), expressing a “newfound respect” for athletes who regularly compete in the sport.

Getting “The Bug” Despite a Fall
Despite the difficult nature of the race, Kolisi suggested she may already be hooked, encouraging others to sign up.
“I did my very first triathlon today!! I have a whole new respect for these athletes,” she wrote. “And honestly… I think I’ve caught the bug. If you’ve been thinking about doing one, this is your sign to just sign up.”
However, her day ended dramatically when she revealed that a “very silly fall” during the race necessitated a hospital visit. Thankfully, Kolisi confirmed that she sustained no broken bones or serious injuries.
She concluded her post by thanking the team and brands that assisted her preparation, including @ww_xtri for the event, @olympiccycles for her bicycle, and @che_john_ for encouraging her participation.
