Nasty C says he is open to making more amapiano and hints at a possible collaboration with Kabza De Small. Here’s what the rapper revealed.

Nasty C isn’t ruling out another amapiano move.

The South African hip-hop heavyweight has revealed that he has already experimented with the genre and is open to returning to it in the future — potentially alongside one of amapiano’s biggest names, Kabza De Small.

During an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, Nasty C was asked whether he and his camp would consider exploring amapiano more seriously.

Rather than shutting down the idea, the Ivyson rapper pointed to his previous experience with the sound and admitted that he enjoyed the process.

“I have done it,” Nasty C said, referring to his collaboration tape with Lekka. He added that he did not want to rule out doing it again.

That answer has left the door firmly open for another genre crossover.

Nasty C is already connected to amapiano

For Nasty C, amapiano is more than simply another sound to experiment with.

The rapper says he has genuine relationships with several artists from the scene and enjoys spending time creating with them in the studio.

That connection could make a future amapiano project or collaboration feel like a natural progression rather than a forced attempt to chase a trend.

Nasty C has also demonstrated throughout his career that he is comfortable moving beyond traditional hip-hop boundaries.

Kabza De Small collaboration?

One potential collaboration stands out.

When discussing amapiano artists he admires, Nasty C singled out Kabza De Small, praising the producer and musician’s talent.

The rapper even entertained the possibility of the two eventually working together — with the resulting song potentially being amapiano rather than a conventional hip-hop record.

Nasty C made it clear that nothing has been confirmed, but his comments have certainly fuelled the idea.

A Nasty C and Kabza De Small collaboration would bring together two major figures from different corners of South African music and could create an intriguing meeting point between hip-hop and amapiano.

From hip-hop to amapiano?

Nasty C’s willingness to experiment reflects the increasingly fluid boundaries within South African music.

While he remains firmly established as one of the country’s leading hip-hop artists, his comments suggest he is not interested in limiting himself to one genre.

His previous work with Lekka has already given him a taste of amapiano, and another collaboration could allow him to explore the sound even further.

For now, there is no confirmed Nasty C and Kabza De Small record.

But if the rapper’s comments are anything to go by, the possibility is very much alive.
