Patrick ‘Tito’ Maswanganyi is quickly making his presence felt in Bahrain.
The former Orlando Pirates midfielder delivered an impressive performance for Al Khaldiya, registering two assists as his new club came from behind to beat A’Ali and maintain their perfect start to the league campaign.
Maswanganyi only recently completed his move to Al Khaldiya in a surprise transfer and made his debut almost immediately after being unveiled.
Now, the South African appears to be settling into his new surroundings — and Friday night provided an early glimpse of what he can offer.
Maswanganyi shines in Al Khaldiya comeback
Wearing his familiar No. 28 shirt, Maswanganyi started the encounter against A’Ali and played a key role in Al Khaldiya’s second-half turnaround.
The hosts found themselves 1-0 down at half-time, but responded strongly after the break, scoring three unanswered goals to turn the match around.
Maswanganyi was directly involved in two of those goals, providing two assists as Al Khaldiya completed the comeback.
It was an important contribution from the former Pirates star as he continues to adapt to life in Bahraini football.
