The Springboks have won seven of their last nine matches against the All Blacks. Here's a look at South Africa's remarkable recent record ahead of the Baltimore clash.

The Springboks have strengthened their grip on one of rugby’s greatest rivalries, winning seven of their last nine matches against the All Blacks.

South Africa’s latest victory — a hard-fought 29–24 triumph at FNB Stadium — completed back-to-back wins in the current series and underlined the remarkable consistency Rassie Erasmus’ side has shown against New Zealand in recent years.

The Springboks have now lost just twice to the All Blacks across their last nine meetings, dating back to August 2023.

Springboks have turned the rivalry around

The recent head-to-head record tells a compelling story.

South Africa’s run includes the dramatic 12–11 victory over New Zealand in the 2023 Rugby World Cup final, as well as the historic 43–10 demolition of the All Blacks in Wellington in 2025.

The Springboks also recorded two victories over New Zealand in 2024 before adding two more wins in the opening three matches of the 2026 Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Series.

Their only defeats during this nine-match stretch came in Auckland in September 2025 and Johannesburg in August 2026.

Another massive battle awaits in Baltimore

Despite South Africa’s recent dominance, Erasmus knows the rivalry is far from settled.

The All Blacks will have another opportunity to respond when the teams meet in Baltimore this Saturday.

Erasmus expects New Zealand to come out fighting and has warned his players that another full 80-minute performance will be required.

The Springboks are also determined to finish the series strongly and lift the trophy, meaning the final encounter promises another intense chapter in this historic rivalry.

With the All Blacks desperate to strike back and the Springboks chasing another victory, there is little room for complacency.

The next battle kicks off at 23:00 South African time, with the match set to be broadcast live on SuperSport.

Can the Springboks make it eight wins from 10?

South Africa already holds a commanding 7–2 record across the last nine meetings.

Now the question is whether Erasmus’ team can add another victory and take their recent dominance of the All Blacks to an even more remarkable level.

Will the Springboks finish the series with another win?
