The Sea Robbers are not slowing down this transfer window. Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed a double swoop for Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane from Marumo Gallants.
This latest move brings the Buccaneers’ January tally to three new faces, following the high-profile arrival of Andre De Jong from Stellenbosch FC earlier this month. The club confirmed that both players have joined on a permanent basis and are ready to integrate into the squad immediately.

Strengthening the Core: Who are the New Recruits?
Head coach Jose Riveiro now has two versatile assets to bolster his tactical options as the club prepares for a grueling second half of the Betway Premiership season.
- Daniel Msendami (Winger): The Zimbabwean international has been a standout performer for Gallants, making 13 appearances this term. Pirates fans might remember him well—he was the man who netted a goal against the Buccaneers back in August. His ability to play on either flank provides much-needed competition for the starting spots.
- Mpho Chabatsane (Center-Back): At just 23 years old, Chabatsane is a direct replacement for the departed Mbekezeli Mbokazi. As a left-sided central defender, he offers rare tactical balance to the backline, a profile that is highly sought after in modern football.
The Road Ahead
The duo has already traveled to the North West to join the rest of the squad for their mid-season training camp. The professional conduct of Marumo Gallants during the negotiations was specifically highlighted by the Pirates’ management, noting the smooth transition for both players.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see the new boys in action. Orlando Pirates are set to face Sekhukhune United on Saturday, 24 January, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
