Kaizer Chiefs officially confirm the departure of co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef following the expiry of their contracts.

The structural overhaul at Naturena has officially begun. Kaizer Chiefs have released an official statement confirming that co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have parted ways with the club following the formal expiration of their contracts at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

The technical duo, who stepped up to guide the Glamour Boys after the high-profile exit of Nasreddine Nabi in October 2025, are credited with completely steadying the Amakhosi ship and delivering one of the club’s most stable and improved tactical campaigns in recent memory.

The Numbers Behind the Revival

Ben Youssef originally arrived at the start of the 2024/25 season, followed closely by Kaze in October 2024. While both initially served as trusted assistant tacticians under Nabi, their promotion to joint head coaches triggered a major resurgence in the locker room.

The duo leaves behind an incredibly respectable track record across their 39 matches in charge across all competitions:

THE KAZE & BEN YOUSSEF TRACK RECORD:
   Matches Led: 39
   Victories: 19 | Draws: 11 | Defeats: 9
   League Points: 54 (Club's 2nd-highest return in 11 years)
Domestic Finish: 3rd Place in the Betway Premiership

In addition to securing a coveted top-three domestic finish, the co-coaches masterminded a fierce continental run in the CAF Confederation Cup. Amakhosi ultimately accumulated 10 points in a brutal Group D, missing out on a historic knockout stage qualification slot by the narrowest of margins on goal difference.

Technical Room Clearance: Conditioning Coach Safi Also Exits

The cleanout of the technical bench didn’t stop with the head coaches. Kaizer Chiefs also confirmed that conditioning coach Majdi Safi has officially vacated his post following the expiration of his contract at the conclusion of the season.

In a formal parting statement, the Naturena hierarchy expressed deep gratitude to the departing trio:

“The club would like to sincerely thank the coaching staff for their immense contribution, professionalism, and dedication to the Amakhosi badge. Further announcements regarding our technical structure and preparations for the upcoming season will follow in the coming weeks.”

With the bench completely cleared, rumors will inevitably amplify regarding who will take the hot seat to lead the Soweto giants into their next era.
