South African rapper and record label boss, Big Zulu, has ignited a fierce debate on social media over his unusual choice of attire for a wedding.

A video, which quickly went viral after being shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, November 6, 2025, showed the Imali Eningi hitmaker arriving at what appeared to be a traditional wedding ceremony.
The issue? While other guests were formally dressed for the occasion, the 39-year-old star was seen in a remarkably laid-back, casual outfitāwhich many online critics joked looked more suitable for the gym or a quick errand.
The rapper’s unconventional look sparked a wave of online commentary, with users criticizing the casualness for such a personal event:
- One user, @pitzer26, quipped: “I swear he didnāt know about this wedding, whether itās his or not.ā
- @Tpee134 felt it was disrespectful: āEven if it was his wedding, arriving looking like that in front of people is just disrespectful.ā
- @Xing_Xing100 pointed out the hypocrisy: āFunny how he dresses up to perform for strangers that have paid him, but not for such a personal occasion that will live with them forever, ngisho ezithombeni.ā
Big Zulu’s choice of comfort over convention at a formal event has certainly given Mzansi something to talk (and laugh) about.

Do you think a celebrity should be held to a stricter dress code at a personal event like a wedding?
