SA rappers Da L.E.S and Maggz launch their brand-new podcast.

Two of South Africa’s most iconic hip-hop veterans, Da L.E.S and Maggz, are officially trading the recording booth for the podcast studio. The duo premiered the first episode of their highly anticipated show this week, marking a fresh chapter in their long-standing partnership.

The show aims to pull back the curtain on their private thoughts, covering a broad spectrum of topics including current affairs, sports, music, and the intricacies of pop culture.

“Highly Opinionated”: The Inspiration Behind the Mic

For Maggz, the move into the digital broadcasting space was a natural evolution. He explained that while the public knows them for their hits, they rarely see the analytical side of their personalities.

“A lot of people don’t know we are highly opinionated individuals. We decided to start a pod, share our opinions, and maybe people will like what we have to say,” Maggz shared during the debut.

Listeners can expect a “fun, unfiltered show” that refuses to be boxed into a single genre or theme.

A Hero’s Return: Da L.E.S Reclaims His Voice

The launch is particularly poignant for the “North God,” Da L.E.S. This venture marks his most significant return to the spotlight since suffering a life-altering stroke on his birthday in July 2024.

After spending nearly a month unconscious and facing a grueling road to recovery, Da L.E.S used the platform to express his profound gratitude for a second chance at life.

  • The Recovery Journey: The rapper is currently undergoing intensive daily rehabilitation and physical exercises.
  • A New Perspective: “Life has changed quite a lot. What’s most important is I’m here on earth,” he told listeners.
  • The Resilience: Despite the “scary” ordeal, his presence on the podcast signals a powerful step forward in his health journey.
