Mamelodi Sundowns confirm a date change for their final Betway Premiership match against TS Galaxy.

The business end of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership has arrived with a major scheduling update. Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that their final league fixture of the season has been brought forward to accommodate their quest for continental glory.

As the Brazilians close in on a historic 9th consecutive league title—and their 16th overall since 1996—the logistical demands of competing in the CAF Champions League Final have forced a reshuffle of the domestic calendar.

The Final Stretch: Sundowns’ Revised Schedule

Sundowns currently sit five points clear of Orlando Pirates at the summit. To secure the trophy, they must navigate a grueling run of three matches in six days:

DateOpponentVenueKick-Off
Wed, 6 MayKaizer ChiefsLoftus Versfeld19:30
Sat, 9 MaySiwelele FCLucas Moripe Stadium17:30
Tue, 12 MayTS GalaxyMbombela Stadium19:30

The clash against TS Galaxy was originally slated for May 16 but will now take place on May 12. This allows Masandawana time to prepare for the first leg of the CAF Champions League Final against AS FAR on May 17.

21 Days of Fire

The schedule highlight’s the physical toll on the squad, as Sundowns will have completed seven matches in just 21 days by the time they hit the pitch in Mbombela.

Because of this early finish, the Brazilians will not be part of the traditional “simultaneous kick-off” on the final day of the league (May 23). This means the trophy could potentially be hoisted in Mbombela under the floodlights, or even earlier if the Buccaneers stumble in their upcoming fixtures.

Eyes on the Continental Prize

Once the domestic dust settles, full focus shifts to the CAF Champions League:

  • First Leg: Sunday, 17 May (Pretoria)
  • Second Leg: Sunday, 24 May (Rabat, Morocco)
