The Basadi in Music Awards (BIMA) is officially celebrating its 5th anniversary of honoring and elevating women across the music and entertainment industry.
Taking place over two nights on August 7 and August 8, 2026, at the iconic Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg, the landmark event will kick off with the Vanguard Circle Awards on Night 1, followed by the main Music Awards Ceremony on Night 2.
Under this year’s official theme, “Rewind the Rise,” the ceremony will take guests on a reflective, high-energy journey celebrating the incredible milestones of women in African music.
High-Power Performing Lineup (Saturday, 8 August 2026)
The main ceremony on Saturday, 8 August 2026 (starting at 20:00), features a powerhouse line-up of female trailblazers spanning Afro-pop, Gospel, Amapiano, and Soul:

- Kelly Khumalo: Delivering her unmistakable, powerhouse vocals to guide audiences through emotional anthems of love, healing, and triumph.

- Nothando Hlophe: Bringing a spiritual atmosphere to the stage with her moving gospel performances.
