Betway Premiership side Chippa United have been hit with another FIFA transfer ban after failing to settle outstanding financial compensation owed to former Burkinabé midfielder Roland Sanou.
According to reports from SABC Sport, world football’s governing body issued official confirmation of the sanction on 5 August 2026 after the Eastern Cape outfit failed to satisfy a prior financial ruling in Sanou’s favor.

Sanou, who joined the Chilli Boys during the 2023/24 domestic campaign and made 12 appearances before his contract was prematurely terminated, lodged a dispute with FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber.
After ruling in the player’s favor, FIFA instructed Chippa United to pay full financial compensation. The club’s failure to meet the payment deadline triggered the mandatory sanction.
