Springbok star Jean Kleyn celebrates his 33rd birthday with wife Aisling and their children at their new home in England after joining Gloucester Rugby.

Springbok lock Jean Kleyn celebrated his 33rd birthday surrounded by his wife, Aisling, and their children, Eli and Elsje-Mae, at the family’s new home in England.

Kleyn, who turned 33 on 26 August, recently relocated to England after joining Gloucester Rugby. The move brought an end to his decade-long spell with Irish side Munster, following his earlier career with the Stormers in South Africa.

Aisling shared a series of heartwarming family photos from the birthday celebrations, including moments at home, a birthday cake and a relaxed family outing.

There was also a funny birthday mix-up when the cake mistakenly featured the number 34 instead of 33.

Aisling later joked about the error, writing: “JK is actually 33! Some numerical difficulties occurred.”

Kleyn joined in on the fun, replying: “Wishful thinking #marriedanolderwoman”, referring to the fact that his wife is a year older than him.

The birthday celebration comes as Kleyn and his family settle into their new life in England, with the Springbok forward beginning another chapter of his rugby career with Gloucester.

Aisling has previously gone all out for her husband’s birthday, with the family celebrating at home in Ireland in 2025 with gifts, cake, sushi and a selection of cheeses and crackers.

For now, the Kleyn family appears to be enjoying their new surroundings — and plenty of special family moments away from the rugby field.
