Siwelele FC have ended their working relationship with Lehlohonolo Seema after the club’s difficult start to the 2026/27 season continued with a 3-2 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
The loss at Dobsonville Stadium proved to be Seema’s final match in charge, with Siwelele confirming his departure shortly afterwards.
Seema Leaves Without a Win This Season
The 46-year-old coach had overseen five matches in the new campaign but was unable to secure a victory.
Siwelele recorded two draws and three defeats, a run that left the club down in 14th position and level on points with 15th-placed Marumo Gallants.
The club’s decision comes despite Seema having previously played an important role in keeping the team in the top flight last season, when a number of positive results helped Siwelele avoid relegation.
Assistant Coach Also Departs
Seema’s exit will also see assistant coach Willem Jackson leave the club.
Siwelele have moved quickly to put temporary leadership in place, with Godfrey Mosoetsa taking charge of the team on an interim basis.
The immediate challenge will be to stabilise the side and halt a run of results that has placed the club under pressure early in the campaign.
Seema’s Overall Siwelele Record
Seema was appointed last season after the acquisition of SuperSport United for a reported fee of more than R50 million.
During his time at the Bloemfontein-based club, he was in charge of 37 official matches across all competitions.
His overall record consisted of:

- 15 draws
- 14 defeats
While his tenure included the successful effort to preserve Siwelele’s top-flight status, the club’s inability to build momentum into the new season ultimately brought his spell to an end.
With Mosoetsa now taking temporary charge, Siwelele will hope a change in the dugout can quickly translate into improved results.
