The Ultimatum South Africa star Nolla Moseko has joined ActionSA as a ward councillor candidate for Emfuleni Ward 35 ahead of local elections.

Reality television personality Lehlohonolo “Nolla” Moseko is stepping into the political arena, announcing that he will contest a ward councillor position for ActionSA in Emfuleni ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

The businessman and social media personality, who became known to viewers through Netflix’s The Ultimatum South Africa, revealed the news in a post on Instagram.

Nolla is standing as ActionSA’s candidate for Emfuleni Ward 35, signalling a new chapter in his public life beyond reality television and social media.

Nolla Announces ActionSA Candidacy

Sharing the announcement with his followers, Nolla confirmed that he would be campaigning in the local government elections under the ActionSA banner.

“It’s official, we are contesting Local Government Elections, and I’m your Counsellor [councillor] Candidate for ActionSA in Emfuleni Ward 35. Let’s vote for change,” he wrote.

The announcement sparked a range of reactions online, with some followers expressing surprise at his move into politics and others responding with humour.

One social media user joked about whether Nolla would be giving South Africans an “ultimatum”, referencing the reality show that brought him into the public eye. Another commenter questioned the development.

Nolla’s candidacy adds a new dimension to his public profile, which has included business interests, social media influence and reality television.

From Reality TV Drama to Political Ambitions

Nolla became a familiar face to viewers through The Ultimatum South Africa, where his relationship with Lebogang “Lebo” Sephaphathi played out in front of the cameras.

The couple joined the show with different expectations about marriage. Lebo wanted to take their relationship to the next level, while Nolla was initially hesitant about making that commitment.

Their relationship experienced several dramatic turns during the experiment and reunion episodes, including breakups and a reconciliation that later appeared to fall apart.

During the show’s finale, Lebo explained that she no longer believed the relationship was right for her.

“He hasn’t changed. I don’t see myself being married to him. I don’t feel like I’m in love with you, and I’ve decided to end our relationship,” she said.

Nolla later described the breakup as a betrayal. However, the pair eventually rekindled their romance, married and welcomed a baby boy, according to the supplied report.

Reflecting on their journey, Nolla told Batswadi Magazine: “Our love story is about resilience and forgiveness.”

He added: “We learned to grow up and heal, and now we get to raise love itself.”

Nolla Joins a Growing List of Public Figures Linked to ActionSA

ActionSA, led by Herman Mashaba, has attracted several personalities from entertainment and other professional fields.

Among the names associated with the party are Moja Love presenter Xolani Khumalo, who has been identified as a mayoral candidate for the City of Ekurhuleni, and actor Gabriel Temudzani, known for his role on Muvhango.

Prominent lawyer Tumi Sole and music and theatre composer Lebo M have also been mentioned in connection with the party.

Nolla’s decision to pursue public office now places him among the public figures seeking to translate their visibility into political participation.

Can Nolla Win Over Emfuleni Voters?

Nolla’s announcement has already generated conversation online, but the real test will be whether he can turn public recognition into support at the ballot box.

As an aspiring ward councillor, he will face the challenge of connecting with residents and demonstrating how he intends to address local issues.

His reality television profile may help introduce him to voters, but his political campaign will ultimately need to stand on its own merits.

What do you think about Nolla’s move into politics? Could the reality TV star become a successful ward councillor? Share your thoughts.
