Ronwen Williams came up big for Mamelodi Sundowns, saving a penalty from Ghampani Lungu that could have levelled the MTN8 final for Orlando Pirates.
The Moment
Pirates were awarded a spot kick at 62 minutes with the score at 0-1. Lungu stepped up, but Williams denied him with a brilliant save onto the post. Pirates stayed a goal behind, and Sundowns kept their lead.
Why It Matters
A goal would have put Pirates level and kept alive their bid for an unprecedented fifth consecutive MTN8 title. Instead, Williams’s stop kept the momentum with Sundowns during the second half.
