Percy Tau has reignited conversations about his football future after sharing videos of himself training individually, prompting a notable reaction from respected coach Pitso Mosimane.
The former Bafana Bafana attacker is currently without a club after parting ways with Vietnamese outfit Nam Dinh at the end of last season. His latest training footage has now raised fresh questions about when—and where—he could return to competitive football.
Mosimane added to the excitement by commenting on Tau’s Instagram video with three words: “The return!!!”
Although the message has fuelled speculation among supporters, neither a new club nor an official comeback date has been announced.
Pitso Mosimane’s reaction gets fans talking
Mosimane’s brief comment immediately attracted attention because of his previous connection with Tau and the forward’s established reputation in South African football.
The coach’s words appeared to express excitement about the possibility of seeing the attacker back on the pitch. However, the comment alone does not confirm that Mosimane is negotiating a deal or that he knows where Tau will play next.
For now, the message has added another layer of intrigue to a developing story that supporters will be following closely.
Percy Tau continues training while searching for a club
At 32, Tau appears determined to maintain his fitness while considering his next career move.
The attacker recently shared footage of himself training alone in what appeared to be an open, rural setting. The location was not disclosed, and there has been no official announcement regarding a club interested in signing him.
Tau’s departure from Nam Dinh followed a single campaign with the Vietnamese side, leaving him to explore his options as he looks for another opportunity.
His immediate priority appears to be staying in shape so that he can be ready if the right offer arrives.
Could Percy Tau return to South African football?
A return to the South African game remains one possibility attracting attention from fans.
Tau has previously been linked in reports with Kaizer Chiefs, but no move was completed. Whether the Soweto giants—or another club—will make a fresh attempt to sign him remains unclear.
A move back home could give Tau an opportunity to revive his career in familiar surroundings, while a club elsewhere could offer another challenge abroad. At this stage, however, these remain possibilities rather than confirmed developments.
Is a Percy Tau comeback closer than we think?
Tau’s decision to continue training has given supporters reason to speculate about his next step, while Mosimane’s enthusiastic response has only intensified the discussion.
The former Bafana Bafana international has experience across South African and international football, and his next destination will be closely watched if he secures a new contract.
Nevertheless, there is currently no confirmed transfer, return date or evidence that Mosimane is directly involved in arranging a move.
For now, the big question remains: Where will Percy Tau play next?
