Kaizer Chiefs are actively raiding the Cape Winelands once again. Amakhosi have stepped up their push to secure Stellenbosch FC winger Faiz Abrahams on a season-long loan deal ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign.
According to iDiski Times, negotiations between Kaizer Chiefs and Stellies are progressing smoothly. However, the move hinges on personal terms, with the 21-year-old winger yet to finalize contractual details with the Soweto giants.
High Demand: Pirates & Durban City Missed Out
Abrahams has been one of the most sought-after young talents in the current transfer window:
- Orlando Pirates previously sought a permanent deal but failed to reach an agreement with Stellenbosch FC.
- Durban City came close to securing a loan move, but negotiations collapsed after failing to agree on personal terms with the player.
Now, Kaizer Chiefs have positioned themselves as frontrunners to land the highly rated attacker.
Who Is Faiz Abrahams?
Born in Bishop Lavis, Abrahams developed his trade in the academy of Cape Town Spurs (formerly Ajax Cape Town) before making the switch to Stellenbosch FC.
Player Profile & Career Milestones:
- DDC Stardom: Scored 11 goals for Stellenbosch FC’s DStv Diski Challenge side and was crowned DDC Player of the Season.
- Senior Debut: Made his official Premiership debut against Kaizer Chiefs late in the 2024/25 campaign.
- Overseas Spell: Loaned to Israeli club Hapoel Kfar Saba for the 2025/26 season, registering 3 goals and 3 assists in just 11 appearances before returning to South Africa.
- Playstyle: Known for electric pace, direct running, and sharp 1v1 dribbling skills.
Should the deal go through, Abrahams would become Chiefs’ second capture from Stellenbosch FC in this transfer window, following the arrival of Langelihle Phili.
