Orlando Pirates right-back Kamogelo Sebelebele has become a key weapon for the Betway Premiership and MTN8 champions, and he could be decisive against Mamelodi Sundowns in tonight’s final at Moses Mabhida Stadium (18:00).
A Modern Full-Back With a Bit of Dani Alves
Sebelebele has a big engine, a sharp final ball and an eye for goal. Many fans now call the 24-year-old the best right-back in South Africa. Modern football asks defenders to contribute in the final third as well as defend, and he does both. Since joining from TS Galaxy in 2025, he has grown into one of the most dynamic players in the league.
The Man Who Scored Against Sundowns Before
If he plays well tonight, Pirates have a strong chance of winning an unprecedented fifth consecutive MTN8 title. Sebelebele scored in both legs of last season’s semi-final against the same opponents, so a big night in Durban would not be a surprise.
Mbatha Boost for the Buccaneers
Pirates fans have extra reason for optimism, as midfielder Thalente Mbatha is reportedly ready to return. The 26-year-old has been in full training after nearly two months out with a knee injury and could feature at Moses Mabhida. Supporters are confident he can outplay Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende.
