Kaizer Chiefs have received a welcome boost ahead of their crucial fixture, with Brandon Petersen and Lebohang Maboe returning to the squad.
Their availability gives head coach Fernando Da Cruz added depth and more options on the bench as Amakhosi prepare for an important encounter.
The return of Petersen and Maboe provides Chiefs with valuable squad reinforcement, giving Da Cruz greater flexibility when making tactical changes during the match.
However, the Glamour Boys will have to cope without Renaldo Leaner, who picked up an injury during preparations for the fixture on Thursday.
Leaner’s absence will be a setback for Chiefs, particularly with the match carrying significant importance. The technical team will now have to assess their options and determine the best way to cover his absence.
With Petersen and Maboe back in contention but Leaner sidelined, Chiefs will head into the fixture with a mixed team-news update as Da Cruz looks to get the best out of his available squad.
Pietersen Named on the Bench as Chiefs Make Changes Following Red Arrows Defeat
Brandon Pietersen has been spotted among the substitutes for Kaizer Chiefs, despite earlier reports surrounding his fitness.
Pietersen’s presence on the bench comes as Chiefs make changes to their squad following the club’s 1-0 away defeat to Red Arrows.
According to a report from Kaizer Chiefs commentator @kaizerm_jr, Renaldo Leaner was left out of the squad following an alleged disagreement with Frosler after the defeat.
The circumstances surrounding Leaner’s omission have not been independently confirmed, but his absence has added another talking point ahead of Chiefs’ next fixture.
Pietersen, meanwhile, provides another option for coach Fernando Da Cruz from the bench as Amakhosi look to bounce back from their disappointing result.
With squad selection once again under the spotlight, Chiefs will be hoping for a stronger response in their next outing.
