Kaizer Chiefs has hit a major milestone in its technical development as three of the club’s rising coaching talents—Rory Minnaar, Jimmy Jambo, and Unathi Mabena—have officially been awarded their CAF A Diplomas. This prestigious qualification empowers them to coach at the highest levels of international and African football, marking a significant win for the club’s youth and women’s development structures.
A Commitment to Excellence
Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. lauded the trio for their dedication to professional growth, emphasizing that high-level expertise is a non-negotiable requirement for the future of the Amakhosi.
“Modern football requires coaches to continuously stay up to date with the latest developments, and we want to ensure that high-level coaching is available not only for the senior team but across all seven teams representing Kaizer Chiefs,” Motaung Jr. stated.
The Impact on the Pitch
The newly minted CAF A diploma holders are already integral to the club’s future success, each leading critical development areas:
- Rory Minnaar: As the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy (KCYDA) goalkeeper coach, Minnaar joins an elite group, becoming one of only five goalkeeper coaches in South Africa to hold this high-level qualification.
- Jimmy Jambo: Currently steering the club’s talented U15 side, Jambo’s tactical growth is expected to pay dividends for the next generation of Chiefs stars.
- Unathi Mabena: Heading the newly established Kaizer Chiefs Ladies team, Mabena’s success underlines the club’s rapid expansion into the women’s professional game.
Strengthening the Technical Core
By adding Minnaar, Jambo, and Mabena to the ranks of existing CAF A license holders like Vela Khumalo and Mohammed Bhamjee, Kaizer Chiefs is cementing its reputation as a hub for elite football education. This influx of advanced coaching knowledge is set to benefit teams across the board, including those competing in the Gauteng Development League, DStv Diski Challenge, and the Sasol League.
As the club continues to build its future, this achievement reflects a clear strategy: developing world-class coaches to ensure the next generation of Amakhosi players receives the very best guidance in the game.
