South African DJ and producer addresses online claims and sets the record straight.
South African music producer and DJ Prince Kaybee has responded to allegations that he is homophobic, addressing the claims directly on social media.
The Charlotte hitmaker questioned the origin of the rumour and highlighted his longstanding personal and professional relationships with members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Direct Response to Allegations
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Prince Kaybee dismissed the claims and expressed confusion about why the label had been attached to him.
“I don’t understand why people say I’m homophobic. I had a gay chef that is, in my opinion, the best cook I’ve ever met, a gay stylist that did wardrobe for two of my music videos. I have gay friends in and out of South Africa. I had a gay assistant for music PR and submissions that I worked with for 10 years. Where does this rumour come from?”
Online Reactions
His response comes amid ongoing social media discussions where public figures often address accusations and public narratives in real time.
The award-winning producer has previously been outspoken on social issues, frequently sharing opinions that spark debate among fans and critics.
This time, however, he focused on citing his friendships and professional collaborations as evidence against the accusations.
Social media users reacted with mixed responses — with some supporting his clarification, while others debated whether personal associations alone are enough to dismiss allegations of homophobia.
