Understanding the Procedure
City Makoti explained to her followers that she opted for composite veneers—a choice she made for both aesthetic and preservation reasons. Unlike porcelain veneers or crowns, which often require the permanent filing or “shaving down” of natural tooth enamel, composite veneers are applied directly onto the existing teeth.
“They build onto your teeth,” she noted. “My natural teeth are still here, and I can actually have them removed later to return to my original teeth if I wanted to.” This non-invasive approach is not only reversible but also more budget-friendly than traditional porcelain alternatives.
The Investment & Details
The transformation took place at a dental practice in Benoni, where the cost was calculated at R3,000 per tooth. While she initially planned to focus on just six teeth, she eventually decided to extend the work to eight to ensure a broader, more radiant smile. This brought her total investment to R24,000.
She opted to leave her bottom teeth untouched, noting that she was already happy with their appearance. The entire transformation took approximately three hours and, according to City Makoti, was entirely painless.
