South Africa’s Miss Supranational representative, Shannon Benting, has officially touched down in Poland. The 30-year-old beauty queen, model, and content creator has arrived in Nowy Sącz to join contestants from across the globe ahead of the international pageant.

The preliminary events and the highly anticipated grand finale are set to take place at the historic Strzelecki Park Amphitheater, with the crowning night officially scheduled for 31 July 2026.

A Promise to South Africa

Taking to social media shortly after her 24-hour journey across the globe—which included a stopover in Turkey—Shannon shared a moving reflection on what this moment means to her.

“On 6 June, I did not just make a promise to myself,” Shannon wrote. “I made a promise to South Africa to represent my beautiful country with joy, excellence, pride, and a grateful spirit.”

For Shannon, stepping onto the international stage is about defying expectations and breaking barriers for the next generation.

“My mission is clear, and I am here standing tall, defying the odds and surpassing what I once believed was possible for a girl from my hometown. I am at @misssupranational, paving a new path for little girls whose dreams are bigger than their current reality.”

Carrying Both a Child and a Dream

Beyond the glamour of the runway, Shannon is championing a powerful message for mothers worldwide. Speaking openly with DRUM Magazine, she highlighted that her journey is proof that motherhood and personal ambitions can coexist beautifully.

  • On her identity: “I am honoured to be representing the bold and diverse South Africa. I am a model and a content creator, but my biggest and greatest achievement is being a mother.”
  • Her message to women: “I am here to remind all women, especially mothers, that you can do it all, you can be it all, and you can have it all – with a child on your hip. Because we are entirely capable of carrying both a child and a dream.”

As the Festival of Beauty gets underway in Poland, South Africans will be cheering Shannon on every step of the way, hoping she will bring the international crown back home.
