Orlando Pirates have announced the reopening of their official club store at the Orlando Amstel Arena, bringing the Buccaneers’ retail experience back to a venue deeply connected to the club’s history and supporters.
The store will officially reopen on Saturday, 15 August 2026, giving Pirates fans another opportunity to connect with the club while getting their hands on official merchandise.
Orlando Pirates Store Returns to eS’Godini
The reopening represents more than simply bringing back a retail outlet.
For Orlando Pirates, returning to eS’Godini is about reconnecting with the Soweto community and celebrating the club’s roots.
Supporters attending the reopening can expect a number of activities and activations throughout the day.
Entry is free, but fans must register in advance through OpenTickets.co.za, with registrations subject to validation at the entrance.
The gates will open at 10:00 on Saturday.
Pirates Embrace Their Soweto Roots
Orlando Pirates marketing manager Sindisiwe Khumalo-Sibisi highlighted the significance of returning the store to the iconic venue.
The club believes the move reinforces its connection with Soweto and the supporters who have played an important role in its identity.
Retail operations manager Hunadi Sefoka also explained that Pirates wants its retail spaces to feel like genuine club destinations rather than simply places to purchase merchandise.
The Orlando Amstel Arena location is therefore intended to combine club heritage, community and the modern Pirates brand.
Pirates Face AmaZulu in Midweek Clash
The store reopening comes during an important period for the Buccaneers, who have started their Betway Premiership title defence with a victory.
Pirates defeated newly promoted Milford FC 2-0 in their opening league fixture.
Their next challenge comes on Wednesday, 12 August, when they travel to face AmaZulu FC at Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium.
AmaZulu also began the campaign with three points after recording a 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC away from home.
That means both sides head into Wednesday’s clash with confidence and plenty to play for.
A Big Week for the Buccaneers
Between their midweek league fixture and the reopening of their official store, it promises to be a busy week for Orlando Pirates supporters.
For the club, bringing the store back to Soweto is also a celebration of the relationship between Orlando Pirates and its loyal fanbase.
