Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed an agreement for the transfer of attacking midfielder Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi to Bahrain Premier League outfit Alkhaldiya Sports Club.
The 28-year-old requested a move abroad to pursue a new step in his career. Despite Maswanganyi featuring prominently in the technical team’s plans for the ongoing campaign, the Soweto giants elected to honor his service and grant his request.
- Club Statement: Orlando Pirates acknowledged his contributions, stating: “In recognition of his service to the Club and his ambitions for the next chapter of his career, Orlando Pirates agreed not to stand in his way.”
- Legacy in Soweto: “Tito” leaves the Sea Robbers as a league champion and a standout favourite among the Ghost, having delivered exceptional performances in the iconic black and white jersey.
- Next Steps: The transfer to Alkhaldiya SC provides the playmaker with a new challenge in the Middle East, while Pirates shift focus to filling the creative void in their squad across domestic and continental competitions.
