South African rapper and Qwellers co-founder Lowfeye is preparing to give his loyal supporters a special live experience with the announcement of his upcoming “KWAMAKHULU” show series.
The three-city run will see the artist perform in Johannesburg, Durban and Dundee later this year, creating an intimate space for the fans who have been part of his journey since the beginning.
Known to many as Mabulala and Umfana KaMakhulu, Lowfeye announced the shows with an emotional message aimed directly at his day-one supporters. The rapper made it clear that the series was inspired by the continued requests from fans who have followed his evolution from his earlier releases to the arrival of his debut album.
“After getting so many requests from y’all, it was only right we do it,” Lowfeye shared, dedicating the experience to supporters who have been with him since the Umfana KaMakhulu era, through Imibuzo and Days Before NOSANGE, and into the release of NOSANGE.
A Celebration Of Lowfeye’s Journey
The name “KWAMAKHULU” carries deep meaning within Lowfeye’s artistic story. It connects to his breakthrough 2024 project, Mfana kaMakhulu, which helped introduce his unique blend of hip-hop, Afro-soul and deeply rooted cultural storytelling to a wider audience.
Rather than simply being another run of performances, the upcoming shows are expected to take fans through different stages of Lowfeye’s career.
Supporters can look forward to music representing several important chapters in his catalogue, including Mfana kaMakhulu, Imibuzo, Days Before NOSANGE and his 2026 debut album, NOSANGE.

Johannesburg will set the tone for the series when Lowfeye takes over Da Valt in October. Durban follows later that month before the rapper brings the journey home to Dundee for the final show in December.
By choosing more intimate venues, Lowfeye appears to be placing the focus firmly on the connection between himself and the supporters who have watched his rise closely.
