Flash iKumkani is choosing the studio and album campaign over the boxing ring.
South African artist Hlumile Mangoloti, popularly known as Flash iKumkani, will no longer take part in the boxing bout scheduled for 26 September at kuGompo City. His label, Pika Records, confirmed that the artist has withdrawn from the event organised by Xaba Promotions because of contractual commitments linked to his forthcoming album.
The announcement comes as Flash iKumkani enters an important stage of his music campaign. According to Pika Records, the upcoming project has been completed and is now in its pre-release phase, requiring the artist’s full attention for promotional, marketing and rollout activities.
In a statement, the label explained that Flash’s recording agreement includes obligations that prevent him from participating in the September boxing event.
“Due to these contractual commitments, Flash iKumkani will unfortunately not be able to participate,” Pika Records said.
The label also apologised to fans, supporters and Xaba Promotions, acknowledging the disappointment among those who had been anticipating seeing the artist step into the ring.
While the decision may come as a surprise to fans who were looking forward to Flash’s boxing appearance, Pika Records described it as an important move for the artist’s long-term professional development.
The label stressed that prioritising his contractual responsibilities and ensuring a successful album rollout are central to Flash iKumkani’s continued career growth.
