Cassper Nyovest has publicly applauded DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small following the Scorpion Kings’ massive FNB Stadium concert, describing the milestone as a significant moment for South African music.
The Scorpion Kings took over Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium on Saturday, 19 September, for what became their biggest live performance to date. The show reportedly attracted more than 74,000 fans and featured over 70 performers, bringing together Amapiano and several other sounds from South Africa’s vibrant music scene.
Reacting to the scale of the event, Cassper shared a message of support on X, highlighting what he believes the duo’s success represents for the broader music industry.
“What Scorpion Kings did last night is monumental. That’s breathing life into the South African music industry as a whole.”
He went on to praise Maphorisa and Kabza for building a movement that extends beyond their own careers and creates opportunities throughout the music ecosystem.
“Celebrating a culture, genre and a people. The boys are blessed to have created this thing that now feeds so many families. I have nothing but respect!!!”
Cassper’s comments carry added significance given his own history with stadium concerts.
His Fill Up journey began in 2015, when he became the first local headliner to fill the then 20,000-capacity Ticketpro Dome. He followed that achievement with a sold-out Fill Up Orlando Stadium concert in 2016 before taking the concept to FNB Stadium in 2017.
The 2017 Fill Up FNB Stadium concert reportedly attracted around 68,000 people, establishing another major milestone in the growth of South African artists staging large-scale headline events.
DJ Maphorisa has previously acknowledged Cassper’s influence on the stadium-concert movement, making the Scorpion Kings’ latest achievement part of a broader story about South African artists expanding the possibilities of live entertainment.
For Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, the FNB Stadium performance represents another major chapter in the Scorpion Kings story. The duo had already staged a sold-out concert at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in August 2025, continuing their transition from club and festival stages to some of the country’s biggest venues.
Their latest show placed Amapiano firmly at the heart of a major stadium production while celebrating the genre’s origins, evolution and cultural reach.
Cassper’s public acknowledgement also underlines the relationship between different generations and movements within South African music.
