Relebohile Mofokeng continues to make headlines in Belgium, adding another assist to an impressive start with Union Saint-Gilloise.
The former Orlando Pirates attacker is settling quickly into life in the Belgian Pro League after making his move to Union Saint-Gilloise following an impressive 2025/26 campaign in South Africa.
Mofokeng enjoyed a standout final season with Pirates, recording 10 goals and eight assists in 27 league appearances. His performances helped earn him a move to Europe, where he has continued to produce decisive moments.
Mofokeng keeps producing for Union SG
Mofokeng has already experienced several memorable moments since arriving at Union SG.
He converted the decisive penalty in the shootout against Club Brugge in the Belgian Super Cup final in July before opening his Europa League account in Union SG’s 3–0 victory over Viktoria Plzen.
The 21-year-old has also found the net three times in five league appearances and added another contribution on Sunday, providing an assist against Royal Antwerp.
Union SG have now won six consecutive matches across all competitions, with Mofokeng increasingly becoming part of the club’s attacking threat.
His latest contribution will further fuel interest in how the former Pirates star develops during his first European campaign.
Pirates continue their unbeaten run
Back in South Africa, Orlando Pirates continued their strong start to the season with a 2–0 victory over Marumo Gallants on Sunday.
Kabelo Kgositsile and Nkosinathi Sibisi were on target as the defending champions collected another three points.
Pirates remain unbeaten after seven matches and sit one point behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, while holding a game in hand.
