Cassper Nyovest’s Million Voices campaign receives R100,000 from SGS South Africa to support efforts to tackle period poverty and help girls stay in school.

Cassper Nyovest’s fight against period poverty has received a significant boost, with SGS South Africa donating R100,000 to his Million Voices campaign, an initiative focused on improving access to menstrual hygiene products for girls across South Africa.

The contribution adds momentum to the campaign’s mission to help girls remain in school, protect their dignity and access the essential products they need to manage their periods.

Nyovest shared the news on social media, expressing his appreciation to SGS South Africa, part of the global testing, inspection and certification company SGS. He described the contribution as the campaign’s biggest donation publicly acknowledged so far.

“A big thank you to SGS South Africa, the world’s leading Testing, Inspection and Certification company, for your contribution towards A Million Voices & our mission to end period poverty. Our biggest contribution so far and we are so grateful,” the rapper wrote.

The artist also highlighted how the financial support could help more learners access menstrual products without having to compromise their education.

“Your support brings us one step closer to ensuring that more girls have access to essential menstrual products & can continue their education with dignity. Thank you for being part of the change!” he added.

Million Voices targets one million girls

Launched in July 2026, Million Voices aims to reach one million girls through its efforts to tackle period poverty in South Africa. The initiative seeks to address the barriers that arise when learners cannot access the menstrual hygiene products they need.

Nyovest has spoken about his personal motivation for supporting the cause, including how becoming a husband and father to a young daughter helped shape his perspective on the issue.

Period poverty remains a concern for learners who struggle to obtain menstrual products. Limited access can affect school attendance, participation in everyday activities and educational opportunities. Million Voices aims to raise R100 million to help provide sanitary products and support girls’ ability to continue their schooling with dignity.

Corporate support strengthens the campaign

SGS South Africa joins other corporate supporters contributing to the initiative. Universal Music South Africa previously donated R25,000, according to the report.

The latest R100,000 contribution represents an important addition to the campaign’s fundraising efforts and highlights how corporate partnerships can support initiatives addressing social challenges.

For Million Voices, the goal extends beyond collecting donations. The campaign seeks to turn financial support into practical assistance for girls who need reliable access to menstrual hygiene products.

With SGS South Africa’s contribution, Nyovest’s initiative has secured further backing as it works towards its R100 million fundraising target. The campaign continues to place menstrual health, educational access and dignity at the heart of its mission to support girls across South Africa.
