Kaizer Chiefs have a welcome lift ahead of Tuesday’s Betway Premiership clash with Stellenbosch FC. Left-back Bradley Cross says he is back to full fitness and ready to contribute after missing most of the season so far.

Back from a pre-season setback

The 25-year-old was injured in pre-season and returned to action last month, playing in two matches. Cross was a regular at left-back for Amakhosi last season, and his form earned him a place in South Africa’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to the media on Monday, he said he had been working every day to get better and now feels 100 percent.

Still short of key players

Cross’s return doesn’t fix every problem. Lebohang Maboe, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Adolf Mtasingwa and winger Langelihle Phili remain unavailable, and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen is also sidelined.

Da Cruz: “Focus on the players available”

Head coach Fernando Da Cruz said the team is very well prepared. He admitted he isn’t happy about the injuries but stressed that the focus has to stay on the players he has.

What’s at stake

Chiefs want maximum points against Stellenbosch to strengthen their league position and keep their season ambitions alive.

The question for fans: can Chiefs win the league?
