Tshepang Moremi has emerged as one of Orlando Pirates’ most influential players in recent weeks, with his growing goal-scoring impact strengthening his case as one of Abdeslam Ouaddou’s key men.
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has shown a strong preference for continuity, relying on a core group of players as the Buccaneers navigate a demanding season.
Among those players, Tshepang Moremi has increasingly stood out.
The attacker recently joined a select group of Pirates players to reach 50 appearances under Ouaddou, alongside Oswin Appollis, Sipho Chaine and Lebone Seema.
However, Moremi’s importance goes beyond his appearance tally.
Moremi Making His Mark in Attack
The forward has delivered when Pirates have needed him most, scoring in two of the club’s last three matches.
One of his most important contributions came in the CAF Champions League qualifying campaign, where Moremi scored the only goal in Pirates’ away victory over African Stars.
His league numbers have also been encouraging.
Moremi has scored four goals in six league appearances this season, underlining his growing influence in the final third.
That form has strengthened his case as one of the players Ouaddou can rely on during a crucial period of the campaign.
Ouaddou’s Trusted Core
The Pirates coach has previously emphasised the importance of having leaders spread throughout the team, and his selection patterns suggest that he values consistency within his core group.
Moremi’s recent form has now added another dimension to that continuity.
While several players have established themselves as regulars under Ouaddou, Moremi’s ability to contribute goals could make him particularly important as Pirates compete across domestic and continental competitions.
Pirates Enter Nedbank Cup Clash in Strong Form
The Buccaneers head into their Nedbank Cup clash against Milford FC on Tuesday, 27 October at 19:00 in confident mood.
Pirates have won their last three matches across all competitions without conceding a goal, giving Ouaddou’s side plenty of momentum heading into the fixture.
Moremi will be one of the players attracting attention as Pirates look to extend that winning run.
If his recent scoring form continues, the attacker could become an increasingly important figure in the Buccaneers’ pursuit of success this season.
Is Moremi Pirates’ Most Important Player?
Moremi’s recent numbers certainly make the argument interesting.
With four league goals in six appearances, a decisive CAF Champions League goal and a growing role within Ouaddou’s trusted group, the attacker is making a strong case for greater recognition.
But is Tshepang Moremi now Orlando Pirates’ most important player?
Have your say.
