Wandile Duba has officially joined an exclusive group of Kaizer Chiefs legends after producing a sensational hat-trick against TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup.
The 22-year-old striker was the star of the show as Amakhosi secured a convincing 3-0 victory, with all three goals arriving in the second half after a challenging opening period.
His remarkable performance not only helped Chiefs progress in the competition but also secured him a place in the club’s history books.
Duba has now joined a distinguished list of Amakhosi players who have scored hat-tricks during the Premier Soccer League (PSL) era.

Scoring three goals in one match is a special achievement for any footballer, but doing so in the famous gold and black jersey carries even greater significance.
Duba’s achievement puts him alongside some of the most memorable attacking players to have represented the Soweto giants.
Among those names is former striker Pollen Ndlanya, who enjoyed an outstanding goalscoring spell at Naturena.
Ndlanya reportedly scored four hat-tricks during his time at Chiefs and six in total during the PSL era, underlining his reputation as one of the club’s most prolific finishers.
Another notable name is Kaizer Motaung Jr, the club’s current sporting director, who managed two hat-tricks during his playing career. Those performances came against Maritzburg United and Bloemfontein Celtic.
Caleb Bimenyimana was the previous Chiefs hat-trick hero
Before Duba’s impressive performance against TS Galaxy, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana was the last player to score a hat-trick for Amakhosi.
The Burundian striker achieved the feat in 2022 against Stellenbosch FC, scoring all three goals from the penalty spot.
Other celebrated Chiefs attackers have also produced memorable goalscoring performances.
Former Bafana Bafana forwards Mark Williams and Lehlohonolo Majoro both managed to score four goals in a single match for the Glamour Boys.
The late John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu is another legendary figure whose name features among the club’s hat-trick achievers.

Duba’s inclusion is particularly exciting because of his age and potential to become an important figure in the club’s attacking future.
Ace Ntsoelengoe remains the ultimate Kaizer Chiefs hat-trick king
While several generations of Amakhosi players have enjoyed memorable hat-trick moments, one legendary name continues to stand above the rest.
According to Kaizer Chiefs, the late Ace Ntsoelengoe holds the club record for the most hat-tricks, with an incredible 14 to his name.
His remarkable achievement highlights the rich attacking history of one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs.
Marks Maponyane also deserves special recognition. The legendary striker scored a hat-trick against Durban City in a knockout competition in 1988.
Although that achievement came before the PSL era, it remains part of the club’s proud football history.
Can Wandile Duba become the next great Chiefs goalscoring legend?
At just 22, Duba has plenty of time to add more memorable performances to his growing collection.
His hat-trick against TS Galaxy could prove to be an important milestone in his development, particularly as Chiefs continue building for the future.
The big question is whether the young forward can maintain his scoring form and eventually join the club’s most celebrated goalscorers.
