South African R&B artist KLY is celebrating another positive moment in his music career after his Spotify audience grew beyond 72,000 monthly listeners.
The singer shared the milestone with fans on Instagram, expressing gratitude to everyone who continues to support his music through streaming.
“Thank you to everyone who’s been streaming. We just reached 72000 monthly listeners. Much love ❤️,” KLY wrote alongside a celebratory video.
Born Siyabonga Mkhize in KwaZulu-Natal and raised in Midrand, KLY — short for Keep Love Young — has built a name for himself through his distinctive blend of R&B, trap-soul and African musical influences. His smooth delivery and emotionally driven songwriting have helped him connect with audiences in South Africa and beyond.
Over the years, he has collaborated with several established names in the music industry, including Emtee, DJ Maphorisa, the late Riky Rick, Patoranking, Wizkid and Mafikizolo. These collaborations have exposed his sound to wider audiences and contributed to his growth as an artist.
The latest Spotify achievement represents an increase from the 50,000 monthly listeners he celebrated earlier in 2026. His profile has since moved beyond the 72,000 mark, with the reported figure standing at more than 72,300 listeners.
KLY’s growing audience continues to discover music from different stages of his career. His catalogue includes the reflective isiZulu track “Ngiyakhumbula,” the more recent release “Drosty” and popular songs such as the “Snapdatsh!t” remix.
Interestingly, music was not KLY’s first creative pursuit. Before establishing himself as a recording artist, he developed a background in dance, performing during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and becoming part of the internationally recognised krump crew 300cru.
That early experience helped shape his artistic journey, which later expanded into music projects such as Keep Love Young and KLYMAX. He has continued to build his catalogue while developing a sound that reflects his personal style and influences.
