Latest Kaizer Chiefs news: Thembinkosi Lorch is reportedly a transfer target, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo's future remains uncertain, and Chiefs prepare for Richards Bay.

Kaizer Chiefs have plenty to keep supporters talking despite having to wait until next week for their next Betway Premiership fixture.

Chiefs linked with surprise move for Thembinkosi Lorch

The Glamour Boys could reportedly make an ambitious move for Thembinkosi Lorch. According to reports from Siseko Gwegwe, Chiefs are considering a bid for the experienced 33-year-old attacker.

A move for Lorch would certainly add intrigue to Fernando Da Cruz’s squad as Chiefs look to build on their promising start to the campaign.

Ngcobo’s Chiefs future remains unclear

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s situation is another talking point around Naturena. The midfielder was an unused substitute during Chiefs’ 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns, leaving questions over his role and long-term future at the club.

Chiefs face a frustrating wait

Chiefs will return to action on Wednesday, 26 August, when they travel to face Richards Bay in a 19:30 Betway Premiership clash.

The Glamour Boys remain unbeaten after three league matches, collecting seven points from a possible nine. They defeated Kruger United and Sekhukhune United before holding Sundowns to a 1-1 draw.

That start has put Chiefs at the top of the early league standings, although they are two points behind their tally at the same stage last season, when they won their opening three league games.

Pressure on Da Cruz to deliver

Head coach Fernando Da Cruz is reportedly operating under significant expectations. Chiefs’ board is believed to want a top-two league finish, which would return the club to CAF competition.

Cup success will also be important after Chiefs’ MTN8 campaign ended in disappointment. With one trophy opportunity already gone, the pressure will be on Da Cruz to ensure the team remains competitive on multiple fronts.

For now, though, Chiefs supporters face an agonising wait before they can see their team back in action.
