Abdeslam Ouaddou has etched his name into the Orlando Pirates record books after guiding the Buccaneers to a remarkable 20-match unbeaten run in the Betway Premiership.
The milestone came after Pirates continued their strong league form, with Ouaddou becoming the first coach in the club’s PSL era to oversee 20 consecutive league matches without defeat.
The unbeaten streak stretches back to February 2026 and includes 15 victories and five draws.
Ouaddou surpasses Ruud Krol
Ouaddou’s achievement puts him at the top of Orlando Pirates’ all-time PSL list for the longest unbeaten league run.
The previous benchmark belonged to Ruud Krol, whose Pirates side went 19 league matches unbeaten in 2009.
Former Buccaneers coaches Ted Dumitru and Kosta Papic are next on the list, with each having recorded 17-match unbeaten runs.

The record underlines the consistency Pirates have shown under Ouaddou, particularly during a period in which the club has established itself among the leading contenders in South African football.
Pirates continue to challenge at the top
The Buccaneers strengthened their position near the summit after a 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants.
The result left Pirates second in the Betway Premiership with 19 points, just one point behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, while having a game in hand.
The international break now gives Ouaddou and his squad an opportunity to regroup before their next league assignment.
Pirates are scheduled to return to Betway Premiership action on Sunday, 18 October, when they host TS Galaxy at Orlando Amstel Arena.
Kick-off is set for 18:00.
For Ouaddou, the immediate focus will be on maintaining the momentum that has already seen him make a significant mark on the club’s PSL history.
