Lolli Native is reflecting on the journey of his sophomore album Amandla as the project celebrates its first anniversary.
The South African rapper recently marked the milestone on Instagram, thanking listeners for continuing to support the album since its release.
“#Amandla the Album turns 1! Thank you for the Love & Support,” Lolli Native shared.
Released on 19 September 2025 through Lolli Native’s House of Native imprint in partnership with international management firm 38 Talent, Amandla arrived as a 10-track project centred around themes of power, unity and collective strength.
Lolli Native Reflects On The Meaning Behind Amandla
The album’s title, Amandla, means “power” in isiXhosa and was chosen to represent the broader message behind the project.
The album featured an extensive lineup of South African artists, including Emtee, Anzo, Bugzito, Phila Madlingozi, 25K, Jay Claude, Esethu Siwe, Kae Wax RSA, Yamke, Lerato Lichaba, Saudi, Just G, Ranks ATM and Sims.
Beyond the collaborations, however, Amandla carried a deeply personal story for Lolli Native.
The project originally began under the name Amanda as a tribute to his sister before evolving into a wider reflection on community, unity and the strength that comes from people supporting one another.
A Celebration Of Community And Support
Around the album’s release, Lolli Native explained that the central message behind Amandla was connected to the “power of community” and the impact created when people uplift each other.
One year later, his anniversary message highlights the role listeners have played in the album’s journey.
By taking a moment to thank his supporters, Lolli Native has used the anniversary not only to celebrate the project itself but also to acknowledge the audience that helped give Amandla a life beyond its release date.
As the album enters its second year, Amandla remains a significant chapter in Lolli Native’s musical journey, combining personal inspiration with a broader message about collective strength.
