Orlando Pirates are heading into one of the most demanding stretches of their season, with the Buccaneers set to play three matches in just seven days as they fight for domestic and continental silverware.
The club’s fixture against TS Galaxy has been brought forward to 13 October, leaving Pirates with just three days to recover from the MTN8 final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
That match will then be followed by their CAF Champions League campaign, creating a demanding period for Abdeslam Ouaddou and his squad.

The Buccaneers have five confirmed matches scheduled during October, with the Carling Knockout also getting underway during the month.

Orlando Stadium, Soweto
15:30
The month concludes with one of the biggest fixtures on the South African football calendar.
Pirates host Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby, potentially adding even more pressure to an already congested schedule.
Why have Pirates been hit by fixture congestion?
The decision to move the TS Galaxy fixture from 18 to 13 October was made to accommodate Pirates’ continental commitments.
Instead of having a full week to recover after the MTN8 final, the Buccaneers now have just three days before returning to action.
The changes have also affected other PSL clubs whose schedules are influenced by domestic and continental competitions.
For Pirates, the challenge is particularly significant because they are attempting to compete on multiple fronts.
Squad rotation could make the difference
Ouaddou has already had to manage his squad carefully, and that approach is likely to become even more important over the coming weeks.
There is some encouraging injury news, however.
Evidence Makgopa and Thalente Mbatha have returned to full-team training, strengthening the options available to the coach.
Mohau Nkota and Andre de Jong are also progressing with their rehabilitation, while Sihle Nduli is expected to complete a further two weeks of field-based rehabilitation before returning to full team training.
With five confirmed matches on the October calendar and the Carling Knockout also beginning, Pirates will need their entire squad to contribute.
For the defending champions, October could prove to be a defining month.
Can Orlando Pirates handle the fixture congestion and remain in contention for all their trophies?
