Priddy Ugly is preparing to unleash another street-inspired release, and he’s bringing longtime collaborator Herc Cut The Lights back into the fold.
The South African rapper has teased a new project titled STRAAPriddy Ugly and Herc Cut The Lights Reunite for New Release STRAATENGTENG, giving fans a glimpse into the intense work and personal experience that have gone into the music.
While details around the release remain under wraps, the announcement has already generated excitement among listeners familiar with the pair’s previous collaborations.
Priddy Ugly teases a hard-earned release
Priddy Ugly shared the news on Instagram, reflecting on the effort behind the upcoming music.
“30 hours of work, a couple hours of pain, many years of hurt, for the thunder power we’ve gained,” the rapper wrote.
He also acknowledged Herc Cut The Lights, describing his longtime collaborator as someone who is always ready to create alongside him.
The message suggests that STRAATENG is being built around the same combination of lived experience, intensity and lyrical focus that has become a defining part of Priddy Ugly’s music.
A return to the STRAATENG sound
The title immediately connects the upcoming release to Priddy Ugly’s earlier street-focused work.
Earlier this year, the rapper released 325 straateng, a freestyle that showcased his use of Johannesburg street slang, technical lyricism and distinctive delivery.
With Herc Cut The Lights reportedly behind the production of the new release, STRAATENG could represent another chapter in that creative direction.
For fans who connected with the raw energy of 325 straateng, the new release could offer a continuation of that sound — while potentially pushing it somewhere new.
Priddy Ugly and Herc Cut The Lights have history
This isn’t the first time the two creatives have joined forces.
Herc Cut The Lights has contributed to several projects in Priddy Ugly’s catalogue, including SOIL, MUD and DUST.
Their working relationship has developed over several years, giving the pair an established creative chemistry that could be central to the sound of STRAATENG.
That history makes the reunion particularly interesting for fans who have followed Priddy Ugly’s evolution.
What exactly is STRAATENG?
For now, Priddy Ugly has kept the details deliberately vague.
It remains unclear whether STRAATENG will arrive as a standalone single, freestyle, EP or part of a larger project.
There is also no confirmed release date yet.
What is clear, however, is that Priddy Ugly and Herc Cut The Lights are back in the studio — and the rapper believes the music is worth the wait.
After hours of work, years of experience and a creative partnership that has already produced several notable releases, STRAATENG could be another significant entry in Priddy Ugly’s catalogue.
One thing is certain: Priddy Ugly and Herc Cut The Lights have something brewing.
