Jojo Robinson is opening up about her battle with invasive skin cancer, surgery plans, and the emotional toll of the diagnosis. From navigating skin grafts with her signature tattoos to the importance of sun safety, Jojo is keeping it 100% real.

Reality TV star Jojo Robinson has shared a sobering health update with her followers, revealing a diagnosis of invasive skin cancer. The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls’ Trip: South Africa standout took to Instagram to disclose that doctors discovered cancerous cells on her chest and back just weeks ago.

The news comes as Robinson prepares for surgery scheduled for next week to remove the affected areas, a procedure that may involve complex skin grafts.

The Challenges of Surgery

Robinson spoke candidly about the unique hurdles her medical team faces. Because she is approximately 90% covered in tattoos, finding “clear” skin for necessary grafts is a significant concern.

“The problem that I have now is that my body is 90% covered in tattoos, so where do I get skin from?” she asked her followers.

Doctors are currently performing further tests to determine the depth of the cancer. Robinson expressed hope that the cells have not reached the bone, noting that she has had some of the marks for years without realizing they were malignant.

Clearing the Air on Causes

Addressing potential misconceptions, Robinson was firm in stating that her condition is not linked to her extensive tattoo work. Instead, she attributed the diagnosis to a combination of:

  • Genetics: Her mother previously battled the same condition.
  • Environmental Factors: Growing up with very fair skin under the harsh African sun.

The Emotional Toll

Beyond the physical battle, Jojo touched on the emotional weight of the past few weeks. She hinted at a sense of isolation, noting that some people she expected support from have been notably absent. “I just do not talk about it, I am just quiet,” she admitted. “The people in my life that I thought would care just do not message me… They just don’t care.”
