JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA — The long-awaited wait is officially over for Mzansi R&B lovers. After nearly a decade away from the spotlight, vocal powerhouse Thabsie has made a triumphant return to the music industry with the official release of her highly anticipated EP, While You Wait.
Marking her first full-body studio project in nine years, the beautifully crafted six-track EP reintroduces her signature soulful sound while exploring deep, relatable themes of love, vulnerability, and the complex psychological struggles of modern relationships.
Emtee Secures the Lone Feature
Thabsie deliberately kept the focus on her personal sonic evolution, choosing a highly minimalist approach to collaborations. The project features just one guest artist: hip-hop titan Emtee, who delivers an ice-cold, melodic verse on the standout track, Good Time.
Speaking to IOL about her long hiatus and the nerve-wracking reality of stepping back into the fast-paced music scene, Thabsie admitted that taking a leap of faith was essential.
“I don’t think the timing ever feels right, but you just have to take the leap and hope everything will work out. I missed my first love, which is music, so the time could not be better.”

“My new EP ‘While You Wait’ is out now. May these songs find the people they’re meant for. Grateful for each and every person who poured their hearts into making these songs and giving this project life. I love you all so much.”
