Football analyst Junior Khanye names five Kaizer Chiefs players who should be released and urges the club to sign Pitso Mosimane.

Outspoken football analyst Junior Khanye has turned up the heat on Kaizer Chiefs, insisting that a massive squad overhaul is the only way back to glory for the Soweto giants. Speaking on 947 with Robert Marawa, the former Amakhosi winger didn’t hold back, naming five specific players he believes should be released to make way for a new era.

Khanye’s “hit list” comes alongside a desperate plea for the club to appoint Pitso Mosimane as the permanent head coach. According to Khanye, a winner like Mosimane would immediately trim the fat in the following departments:

The “Departure List” According to Khanye:

  • The Goalkeeping Duo: Khanye predicts the end of the road for Bruce Bvuma, despite having “nothing against the boy,” and questions why Fiacre Ntwari remains at the club given his lack of game time.
  • The Defensive Backbone: Central defenders Zitha Kwinika and Given Msimango are both tipped for the exit. While Khanye acknowledged Msimango has done well, he believes a coach of Pitso’s caliber would look for different reinforcements.
  • Midfield & Attack: Pule Mmodi’s consistent selection has baffled Khanye, who joked that “perhaps his contract says he must play.” Additionally, Flavio Silva was named as a potential casualty in the quest for a more lethal front line.

Is Pitso Mosimane the Answer?

With Amakhosi currently led by the interim duo of Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, Khanye is adamant that only a high-profile appointment can save the club.

“Pitso, when he comes, a lot of players will go. He will start in the goalkeeping department… he is a proven winner.”

Chiefs fans are left wondering: is Khanye’s assessment a harsh reality check or an unfair critique of the current squad?
