Johannesburg’s favorite culinary weekend is officially back! Taking place over the Women’s Day long weekend on Saturday, 8 August and Sunday, 9 August 2026, the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival returns to the lush grounds of The Wanderers Club in Illovo.
Bringing together approximately 70 top South African wine estates alongside artisanal food stalls, live music, and interactive tasting masterclasses, the festival delivers a two-day celebration of the Cape Winelands right in the heart of Gauteng.

Whether you are looking to discover award-winning vintages or relax on the lawn with live entertainment, the 2026 festival edition features a rich lineup of interactive experiences:
- 70+ Wine Estates & Sparkling Experience: Stroll between tasting stands to sample everything from crisp Cap Classiques, Champagnes, and Proseccos to robust red blends and elegant whites.
- The Pick n Pay Tasting Room: Partnered with Robertsons Spices, these exclusive 30-minute masterclasses feature celebrity chef Tjaart Walraven and leading winemakers pairing gourmet canapés with fine wines (R150 add-on ticket).
- Liquor Mixology Theatre (Presented by Diageo): Learn to craft stylish, seasonal cocktails in fun, 30-minute interactive masterclasses (R150 add-on ticket).
- Fresh Food Market & Picnic Bags: Feast on fresh sushi, oysters, charcuterie boards, gourmet burgers, and wood-fired pizzas, or pre-order a shared Pick n Pay Picnic Bag (R350 add-on).
How the Tasting Token System Works
To encourage responsible drinking, all general admission ticket-holders receive a tasting glass + 20 tasting tokens upon arrival. Tokens are used per pour based on the bottle value:
