Following Thursday’s preliminary round draw in Cairo, Egypt, Kaizer Chiefs have officially mapped out their path into the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
Having secured a first-round bye, the Soweto giants enter directly into the second preliminary round, where they will face the winner of the first-round tie between Red Arrows FC (Zambia) and FC Rouge (Madagascar) over two legs for a place in the lucrative group stages.

The first-round exemption gives head coach Fernando Da Cruz valuable preparation time and allows Amakhosi to focus on early domestic Betway Premiership commitments before stepping onto the continental stage.
Aiming Beyond the Group Stage
Chiefs returned to continental action last season, reaching Group D alongside Zamalek, Al Masry, and ZESCO United. After missing out on the quarter-finals by a narrow margin with a 3rd-place finish, Da Cruz and his squad are focused on advancing into the knockout rounds this time around.
